Position Overview

Nedsdag’s Bargain Center is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Appliance Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, refurbish, and prepare appliances for resale. This role is essential in ensuring every appliance meets our quality, safety, and performance standards before reaching our customers.

Our Appliance Technicians take pride in restoring value to products while helping customers save money on quality appliances. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys troubleshooting, and is committed to delivering exceptional workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair household appliances, including:
  • Refrigerators
    • Freezers
    • Washers
    • Dryers
    • Ranges
    • Ovens
    • Dishwashers
    • Microwaves
    • Ice Makers
    • Beverage Coolers
    • Air Conditioners (where applicable)
  • Perform detailed inspections on incoming inventory.
  • Test appliances for proper operation and safety.
  • Replace defective parts and components.
  • Clean, refurbish, and prepare appliances for the sales floor.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on inventory.
  • Document repairs and completed work orders.
  • Work with warehouse staff to prioritize incoming inventory.
  • Assist customers by answering technical questions when needed.
  • Support loading, staging, and merchandising of appliances.
  • Maintain an organized and safe repair workspace.
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Inspect newly arrived inventory.
  • Diagnose reported appliance issues.
  • Complete repair orders efficiently.
  • Test repaired units before approval.
  • Maintain repair tools and equipment.
  • Update repair documentation.
  • Assist sales associates with technical product questions.
  • Keep repair areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years appliance repair experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to read service manuals and repair documentation.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred

  • EPA Certification (if applicable)
  • Appliance manufacturer certifications
  • HVAC experience
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Plumbing repair experience
  • Refrigeration repair experience

This position requires regular physical activity.

  • Work in warehouse and retail environments.
